Today (13 June) marks the birthday of American actor Chris Evans, known best for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Evans, an ally of the LGBTQ community and an older brother to Scott Evansโan out gay actorโgave an interview to Reuters Television in June 2022 in which he criticised those speaking against LGBTQ inclusion in the 2022 Disney film โLightyearโ.
โThe real truth is those people are idiots. Every time thereโs been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and thatโs what makes us good. Thereโs always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human,โ he said.
