I like to use this plot to visualize the power of compounding interest. Here, you see the effect on a one-time $1,000 investment over 30 years. At a ~10% growth rate (the historical average of the stock market w/o inflation adjustment), that single $1,000 transforms into $17,500 without you ever adding another penny. The moral of the story for young investors: find a way to live on less than you make, invest the rest in the market and watch your dollars work for you. Time is a very powerful tool.

2026 is expected to be another big year for solar additions ☀️ According to an EIA report earlier this week, developers plan to add 43.4 GW of new utility-scale solar capacity in 2026 which is a 60% increase from last year. More than half of the new utility-scale solar capacity is planned for four states: Texas (40%), Arizona (6%), California (6%), and Michigan (5%). In my opinion unless you’re buying the dip, days like today are best to avoid looking at your portfolio. Out of sight, out of mind and you don’t run the risk of making an emotional trading decision.
