The older among us will appreciate how wild it would be to see such a game running on this hardware in the early aughts. Looking like early PS1 tech running on a GBA, that's pretty hefty. Of course by this time the PSP was out the door, so it was probably a little more difficult to take much note at the time. Very impressive, regardless.,

Midway REALLY knew how to get a bead on what western gaming audiences wanted at the time. Obviously they've kept the fire burning with MK for years, but just imagine if they had kept growing steadily & sanely.
NBA Jam for the arcade (Midway/1993). An all-time classic, famous for its over-the-top 2-on-2 basketball action and iconic catchphrases. It grossed over US$1 billion in quarters in its first year, holding the all-time record for per-unit earnings. Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat (also Midway), revealed that a MK basketball court was designed but ultimately scrapped to avoid controversy. Ported to many home systems, such as SNES, Genesis, Saturn, X360, Wii, etc.

HyperSolar - PS2 Version The PS2 version is now nearly on pair with the PC/Web/Dreamcast version. Only the audio implementation is missing! 😊
Yes, everything works fine on real hardware as well! ☺️

What's that menacingly shambling toward us from the distance? Ah, it's just my latest video, a look at some cancelled and rumored game systems from the mid 1990s! Learn about the Konami and Taito systems we never got! Link: youtu.be/pFaZyW-nDuU #retrogaming #konami #taito

Well pardon me for saying so but this looks FUCKING PRETTY COOL
I'd like to thank everyone who taunted me with "the PS2 looks blurry" and pushed to pursue true 640x480p graphics on the PS2. Here's how it looks in PCSX2 software mode. Real hardware video soon. 😎

Interesting, another one which never appeared on the radar. I love this type of top-down run and gunner!
GUNDHARA - JUUDAN ARASHI for arcade (Banpresto/1995) is a top-down run-and-gun game similar to classic titles like Mercs and Shock Troopers. A unique mechanic for the game is a melee kick button that allows you to knock out enemies and deflect enemy bullets. It never received home console ports. The title translates to Bullet Storm Gundhara.

This looked incredible!
Total Recall time! Rob Bottin on The Venetian Head. The full headpiece was extremely heavy. So massive that Arnold couldn’t lift or wear it himself. For the demonstration and filming, it was hydraulically lifted into position behind him.

People underestimate the power of shaders! 😎 Most environments look artificial cause the surfaces feel flat and lifeless So, inspired by Forza Horizon, I created this shader to add depth and atmosphere! Completely changing how flat surfaces are perceived Coming soon on Patreon #VRChat #Shader

I remember noting how they must have used real models for the angles they were getting from these early NES sprites. Wish we could see the actual pics and models, but this is the next best thing!

A Brazilian YouTuber killed the Photoshop subscription. It's called PhotoGIMP. It takes GIMP, the free image editor, and makes it look and feel exactly like Photoshop. Same toolbar. Same panel layout. Same keyboard shortcuts. Your hands already know how to use it. Photoshop vs PhotoGIMP: - Price: $275.88 a year → $0 - Account: Adobe login required → No login, ever - Files: Saved to Adobe cloud → Saved on your computer - Updates: Forced when Adobe says → Only when you want - Works on: Windows and Mac → Windows, Mac, and Linux No Adobe account. No cloud upload. No AI trained on your photos. How small is the patch? Tiny. → Nine settings files. That's it. → Copy them into one folder. Done. → Open GIMP. It now looks like Photoshop. → Don't like it? Delete the folder. GIMP goes back to normal. Three steps to install. One command to uninstall. 8,751 stars. 272 forks. 30 people from around the world helping translate it. One honest note: the license is GPL-3.0. Free for everything. Personal work, paid client work, your own edits. No "Pro" tier hiding behind it. Dionatan Simioni runs the biggest Linux YouTube channel in Brazil. He built this from Marau, a small town in Rio Grande do Sul. No VC. No team. No fundraise. This is what Photoshop should have been from the start. (Link in the comments)

holy shit. Gonna be getting some use from that
This is insane!!! Someone just created a tool for Claude that lets it take any image and not just generate an environment, but individual meshes with physics and an ambient sound layer. Unreal, blender ready, etc.

This week I've been working on the core (melee) weapon. It's now limited use and gives a score bonus for destroying an enemy. It feels more balanced but satisfying to use I think. #mastersystem #homebrew
