🚨WATCH: Trump on the Obama deal with Iran: “Netanyahu came to Washington and begged - yes, begged - before Obama not to sign the deal with Iran. But Obama was on the side of Iran, not Israel, and in the end he signed the deal. This deal was a disaster"

The official position of Iran has always been that it will not build nuclear weapons. If Trump has now obtained such an "agreement" from Iran, it means that he has gained nothing.
JUST IN: Trump announces Iran has agreed to never have a nuclear weapon.

Can’t wait to hear how the Jews did this to him.
New: The NYT is reviewing Nick Kristof's columns after he failed to disclose ex donor ties in a series of columns. When Kristof returned to the paper after a failed bid for governor of Oregon, the NYT said he would disclose financial ties when writing about former donors.

The silver lining to Trump’s pitiful surrender to Iran is that it has ruined JD Vance’s political career.

New York City elected a socialist mayor, and the Knicks won their first championship in 53 years. Imagine what we could do with a socialist governor in Wisconsin? @packers @Brewers @Bucks

“The money Iran can access in the near term is Iran’s own frozen funds, not a dollar of American taxpayer money.” Please don’t insult our intelligence. Argue the merits, don’t use Biden talking points to cover up sanctions relief. Because every Republican blasted Biden for this.

By the way, this is the deal. Admin will try to soften the blow claiming there's a rigorous verification regime but Iran just says no and, due to momentum deal creates, there in no incentive to enforce it. Besides, Trump defeat discredits use of military force against Iran.
Per Trump to NYT: US will dilute, not remove, enriched uranium; limits future enrichment, thus no dismantling nuke facilities, while Iran pledges not to obtain a nuke. MOU is just JCPOA — except Obama never formalized Iran's control of Strait or froze Israel in Lebanon. Plus, Trump is offering lots more money.

⭕️This is stunning!!! You have the CIA director, the Secretary of State, the National Security Advisor, and the Secretary of War all opposing the deal, and Vance still won his way!??? WTH is happening?!!
🚨 Axios: According to three sources familiar with the matter, CIA Director John Ratcliffe informed President Trump and other top officials that intelligence collected by U.S. agencies cast significant doubt on Iran's readiness to agree to the nuclear terms sought by the U.S. in any potential final agreement.

Oh man. You gotta read this thread.
1/I listened to the senior Trump administration officials' call about the latest with Iran. I am in some ways more confused now than before the call. A few thoughts:

Truthfully, it's a little weird that it's going to be at least 48 hours and well after the deal is signed before anyone who isn't in the Trump administration sees it, so I can't tell you it's bad, I'm just sort of assuming that they'd be pretty willing to show us a good one.
Ah yes, I'm an IRGC spokesperson because I'm willing to say the deal is bad for the United States.

Incredible. Trump had all the instruments to win and the upper hand position and he had decided to unilaterally lose it I have never seen anything like that, to be honest. It’s like if the war with Japan ended in 1945 with US surrender for no reason
“The Deal with Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸

Bookmark for two to three weeks from now when it’s painfully obvious there is no durable agreement here and precisely no one cares.
🚨🚨 Senior US official: "We'll know over the next two to three weeks whether the MOU with Iran will turn into an actual agreement".

In a call with reporters, a senior Trump administration official said negotiators discussed a potential $300 billion fund to help rebuild Iran. "You'll see in the MOU, we discussed the possibility of releasing frozen funds, sanctions relief, a big $300 billion fund to rebuild their country."

"The Iranians are considering not quitting, so we are also considering not firing them"
🚨 He added: "There will be a signing ceremony on Friday. Vance, Witkoff and Kushner will be there. We have direct contact with officials in the Iranian system, something that hasn't happened in 47 years. Therefore, we understand what they want. The Iranians are agreeing to concessions they did not agree to in the past, and therefore we are agreeing to consider steps we did not agree to in the past"

Obama caved to Iran because he believed ideologically he should. Trump is caving to Iran because he appears to believe we cannot sustain a win against them. That is way worse for us.

This is so basic a concept, it’s a scandal that so few are discussing it. This is far more important to the future of the US than any deal with Iran. Glad to see @havivrettiggur and @JSchanzer talk about it.
