When I worked at The Brooklyn Paper more than a decade ago (pre-Schneps), I made $27,500. I loved the job, but it was barely enough to survive on. Adjusted for inflation, Schneps reporters are making barely more than that. They deserve a living wage!
"A Schneps employee making $40K makes $3,333/month before taxes; the cheapest health insurance plan costs $2,811 a month for an employee, spouse, & child. An employee could pay as little as $227/month but that plan carries a $7K deductible."
