Fantastic to welcome @CherieBlairKC to @HmpSend last week.
We discussed how we work with the prison to support mothers to stay in touch with their children. Maintaining family contact helps to keep women in prison safe and significantly reduces the likelihood they’ll reoffend.

Vital Beats London Collective is an all-woman group who provide interactive music interventions to support women affected by trauma. They held an event for our women to encourage post traumatic growth through open conversation & promote wellbeing which helps to aid rehabilitation

For Remembrance Sunday, the women & staff worked together to create a display of poppies made from plastic bottles & paint. The women also crocheted poppies to raise funds for @PoppyLegion in Belmont, helping to give back to the community and gain valuable skills. #LestWeForget

On Wednesday (11th Sept) Our Learning and Skills Manager attended a Sport in Prison Knowledge Exchange event at the Royal Holloway University hosted by Professor Rosie Meek. It was great, we discussed the importance of physical activity in prisons.

Over 100 of our prisoners and 15 staff members took part in a @RaceforLife event here at HMP Send, raising £1,890 for @CR_UK. Alongside fundraising, prisoners built valuable life skills by taking part such as team working, accountability & resilience to help aid rehabilitation.
