Is Biden's health "one of the best coverups of all time, one that would make Richard Nixon envious" or did reporters ignore it "because they didn't want to help Donald Trump"? Fascinating from @JillAbramson on BBC Media Show with @AnnieLinskey @nayeema
Why have mainstream US journalists been largely silent on Biden's health until now? On this week's Media Show some big names in US journalism @JillAbramson @AnnieLinskey @nayeema shared their thoughts on the theories swirling since THAT debate @BBCRadio4 @BBCSounds @BBCRosAtkins

AFP is one of the biggest news agencies. I asked its Global News Director, Phil Chetwynd, if AFP would consider Kensington Palace a trusted source, after the edited photo of the Princess of Wales & her children. 'Absolutely not' was the reply. Here's the exchange on @BBCRadio4.

"You're really going to embarrass yourself if you do anything on this" - the Post Office PR tactics according to @nickwallis
11 Jan 2024
"The Post Office, robustly defending its position was a big reason why this story did not get away." @katierazz is joined by Journalists Ian Hislop, Nick Wallis and others debate why it took a TV drama for a huge injustice to get the headline it deserved. A Post Office spokesperson previously has said: "We share fully the aims of the public inquiry to get to the truth of what went wrong in the past and establish accountability. It's for the inquiry to reach its own independent conclusions after consideration of all the evidence on the issues that it is examining. We are doing all we can to put right the wrongs of the past." Thanks @BBCRosAtkins for hosting - for all its faults, the BBC is still one of the news organizations prepared to ask tough questions about its own coverage. Also reminder - CPJ says 17 journalists so far killed in the conflict cpj.org/2023/10/journalist-c…
