IFLAS @CumbriaUni is a global hub of inquiry, teaching and dialogue on enabling the transition to more fair and sustainable societies: iflas.blogspot.co.uk
Most people are good. Most people kiss their pets goodbye and read ‘just one more’ bedtime story to their children. Most people visit their grandparents even when they have no time and stop by to check on quiet friends, after a day too long and draining. Most people return their shopping trolleys, despite being already late and let someone with only one item, jump to the front of a queue. Most people give money when money is scarce and most people worry about people they don’t even know, day in and day out. When the world seems bad, remember, most people are good.

Gary Burke from @BristolUni_BSch gave his keynote address @AstonBusiness on ‘The practice of tackling complex sustainability challenges on the ground: Emerging research insights and implications for responsible management education’ #PRMEASTON2023
This morning, we are back for the last day of #PRMEASTON2023. We began today with our AGM and a review of the chapter’s progress since ‘22. We also announced the University of Exeter @UofEBusiness will host our annual conference next year!
10 years ago today, we took over the #RoyalGeographicalSociety, to say we were worried about climate change and needed a new spirit of adventure. With me on stage were Paul Rose, Ed Gillespie, Kate Rawles, Daniel Start, and Jamie Catto. I'd never spoken after a pop star before (nor since). A decade after that launch of @IFLASinfo, things have certainly been adventurous. I even ditched the map and trodden paths of sustainability. Now, the environmental crisis unfolds into societal disturbances of all kinds. Less a #polycrisis than a monocrisis of the capitalist systems of Imperial Modernity rewarding or forcing us to harm each other and nature. On my good days, I like to think we tried our best. On other days, I think we were mostly busy distracting ourselves. What now?
