🚨 New Research Alert! 🚨 Polyconnectomic scoring of functional connectivity patterns across eight neuropsychiatric and three neurodegenerative disorders doi.org/10.1016/j.biopsych.2… Can we use the entire connectome to learn more about brain disorders? @BiologicalPsyc1

When do machine learning models actually outperform standard polygenic scores? 🤔 In our new preprint, we benchmark how non-additive genetic effects (i.e, dominance deviations) shape polygenic prediction across simulated and UK Biobank traits. 👉 medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/… 🧵 1/6

Hey!! Rachel Brouwer, Martijn van de Heuvel and I wrote a book chapter on the genetics of neuroanatomy. We discuss twin literature on heritability of brain structural traits, followed by a discussion on GWAS findings tinyurl.com/geneticsofneuroa…

6/ We’ve made available the scripts to compute PCS using MATLAB, R, and Python, along with a repository of meta-analytical CSS maps for 11 brain disorders, all mapped using 25 different cortical parcellation schemes. Now everyone can compute PCS on their own data!
