Starting off the day at 7:45 with a balmy 26C in my second floor classroom. Glad the humidex isn’t high today. Many say “lots of people work in heat” and this is true. But that doesn’t mean 25 kids should be expected to learn and output quality work in 400sqft of 30 heat. #onted

The drive home today is mind boggling! @TownOfAjax main roads are CLEAR and many secondary roads are salted or clear. The moment you pass the @TownofWhitby border snow covered, slippery, no road treatment on Hwy2. Move into @oshawacity and the roads are salted, slushy but safe.

Today’s PM @RegionofDurham snow removal conditions. @TownOfAjax well done! Major arteries clear, some side roads already treated/plowed. 10/10 @TownofWhitby only one lane treated, right lanes SLIPPERY, no plowing to be seen. 5/10 @oshawacity 3 major roads no salt, no plow! 0/10

One of the more frustrating things about ADHD is that it doesn’t discriminate. I don’t only avoid things/people I don’t care about… I also avoid things/people I DO care about or love or need… it sucks! Like does every single thing really require convincing? I’m exhausted! #ADHD

45C! It was 45 degrees in my classroom today. Not an ideal first day. I struggled to think straight and found it hard to concentrate. I’m currently making ice packs with ziplocks and ice cubes that students can put on necks/heads tomorrow. #heatwave #OntEd

So sad to hear that #OntarioScienceCentre is moving. My classes won’t be able to go anymore. There’s no way to get to and from during school hours. They have been doing so much renovating lately. All that money invested just to close it? Make it make sense!

Who remembers when @Sflecce said during the 2019 contract negotiations that the Bill 124 1% wage restrictions would enable the government to put more money into classroom supports? It never happened! In fact, the ed budget was underspent by close to $1 B last year alone. #onted

Wwyd? My kid, who is autistic, has been wearing noise dimming headphones during league play all year. Tomorrow is a tournament and we’ve been told no headphones. So what’s a mama to do? League rules state head gear can be worn for religious or medical reasons. #autistic

It went fine! Yay! Turns out the person telling her no headphones is the same one who has made comments before. Thankfully not an organizer, but a coach. Organizers were kind, understanding and asked if we needed any other accommodations. ❤️❤️
