We were promised this from the first day that we started work.
In 1984, the government began taxing Social Security. That was never the intent.
We could have easily put the same money into other markets, and made substantially more for retirement.
When we bought our homes 30 years ago, nobody told us that we would pay taxes on that house forever. At increased valuation rates even though the house had not been sold!
My house was bought for $46k. I now pay for a $243K valuation.
Where is the fairness in that?
