Both are good directors.
But Nolan and Rajamouli are in different leagues from each other.
Intellect and imagination are the keys.
Nolan hits the former and Rajamouli excels in the latter.
Overall I prefer Nolan even though Rajamouli's movies are more fun to watch.

Christopher Nolan is a vastly superior director to S.S. Rajamouli. SSR isn’t even 1% of Nolan. Calling the visionary behind Inception, Interstellar, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight trilogy “Hollywood ka Rajamouli” is a massive insult to Nolan’s genius.

The state wasn't gonna survive anyways, that was sealed once the Anglos achieved unchallenged sovereignty by 1843 (by crushing Marathas).
Even the Newalkar dynasty of Jhansi lasted longer than the Sikh empire and resisted the British for longer too under Lakshmibai. The soldiers of the former Sikh empire was actually fighting *for* the British by then.
