Today's surprising discovery about British English: In Britain they say "on second thoughts" (with an S) instead of "on second thought" - it's the type of thing that sounds to American ears like a nonnative speaker!

Just came across a very surprising difference between British English and American English. In Britain they call India ink "Indian ink"!! Unbelievable!

"Le far west" in French means "milieu sans lois ni règles morales" but the way to say this in English is "Wild West" (not "Far West"). Wild West = place or situation in which disorderly behavior prevails, due to lack of respect for the law. Thanks for the tip, @ChrisDurbanFR
