Every minute spent protesting nuclear should have been spent protesting coal

The workforce for nuclear energy is expanding quickly. It will be challenging to more than double the workforce, and ensure the timing is right. In @WSJ by @yusmkhan wsj.com/articles/shortfall-i…

My focus is to correct the shortsightedness of battery lovers, who think all the world's problems can be solved by using more/bigger batteries, and dismiss hydrogen #H2. How about air/sea transport⬇️, fertilizer, steel, cement, glassmaking, methanol, etc? #HydrogenCan

The Torch-passing events to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day this June were inspired by CANADA🇨🇦 - by the immortal words of Cdn war poet Lt Col (Dr.) John McCrae “In Flanders Fields”. The torch design came from talented students at McMaster University, Hamilton. #LestWeForget

This is what used nuclear fuel looks like in 🇨🇦. Contained. Safely monitored. A solid. Safe. Spoiler: it’s not like what you see on the Simpsons. Every single one of these dry storage containers contains fuel bundles that have powered where Ontarians live, work, and play.

"We are extremely disappointed to learn about the Disability Tax Credit eligibility requirement and the proposed $2,400/year cap. It can be very difficult for people with disabilities to be approved for the DTC due to its strict eligibility requirements, and $2,400/year is woefully inadequate; it will not lift most people with disabilities who are eligible for the #CDB out of poverty." #canadadisabilitybenefit #budget2024 @cafreeland @KamalKheraLib #resignkamalkhera
Disability Alliance BC has written a statement in response to the federal #Budget2024 announcement. We are extremely disappointed with the federal government’s plans for the #CanadaDisabilityBenefit. Full statement: disabilityalliancebc.org/com… #CDB @JustinTrudeau @KamalKheraLib

I had not seen these university rankings from American Caldwell before. Interesting idea but it is genuinely the stupdiest possible way of aggregating data I've seen in a long time. americancaldwell.com/guv-ran…

Once you realize current electricity rate design is a product of the limits of 1920s (not 2020s) metering technology—and not some fundamental economic reality that we must respect as sacred—it becomes a lot more obvious that we need to fundamental redesign electricity rates.

In the early 90's, McMaster made a bold bet to rejuvenate its research reactor instead of shutting it down. A few years later, they committed to hiring a young John Valliant. Both bets have paid off nicely.
We’re proud to be part of this tremendous success story! It started with Prof. Valliant’s innovative idea. Now @FusionPharmaInc is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company being acquired by @AstraZeneca in a deal valued at as much as $2.4 billion (US). brighterworld.mcmaster.ca/ar…
