Where and when did we get the idea that secret societies and occult initiation were all bad? Is it the complementary equivalent of the 20th century progressive idea that Christianity was nothing but a patriarchal force of oppression?

The Turing trap: Mimicking the machine to bridge the uncanny valley. Human socialization wants to "affirm" the reality of the other, even when it has none, & so relinquish one's own realness. Like saying "fine" when someone asks how one is, taken all the way to the singularity.

John 13:18: “I do not speak in regard to y'all; I know those I have chosen; but so scripture might be fulfilled: ‘He who eats my bread has lifted up his heel against me.” What scripture? Can the phrase lift heel against also be translated treads me underfoot? Anyone know Greek?
