Will our First Minister @RhunapIorwerth have the minerals in leadership to unequivocally condemn this criminal act on the offices of the equality regulator for Wales @EHRCwales? I hope so, and that he isn’t afraid of the extremists in his party.
Gosh who’d have thought this πŸ‘‡would happen? In the same week that some Welsh MSs fell over themselves to spread misinformation and fuelled a fantasy notion of injustice regarding the EHRC Code. Let’s have some integrity and responsibility in Welsh politics. Is that too much to ask @WelshGovernment? 1/2

A majority of people of all ages and political shades prefer single-sex toilets. So why do more than 100 MPs want to reject official guidance that will support single-sex spaces, services and sports? Write to your MP using our tool: sex-matters.org/take-action/…
NEW: Poll shows that the vast majority of people prefer straightforward single-sex facilities in workplaces and public spaces. This varies little by age or voting pattern. Politicians who prevaricate over the Supreme Court judgment are out of step with the public. Sex Matters commissioned an independent, nationally representative poll. We asked: β€œFor each of the following, do you prefer them to be single sex or mixed sex?”

Watching this journey unfold, I have been struck by the extraordinary tenacity of the women of @WRNWales. Whatever the personal cost, they refused to be shouted down or intimidated into silence. They turned up. They did the homework. They made their arguments. They persisted. In an age where too many confuse disagreement with hatred, they reminded us that defending deeply held convictions through peaceful democratic engagement is not extremism – it is citizenship. They deserve respect for that.
WRN Wales attended the short debate on women’s rights at the Senedd yesterday. This was introduced by new MS for Fflint Wrecsam @CristianaEmsley of @reformparty_uk. A small band of us were in the public gallery to hear Cristiana’s speech and the rest of the debate. A 🧡 1/

When we said it would be interesting .... The ONLY @Plaid_Cymru signatory (so far) to this Statement of Opinion has mysteriously disappeared from it. We can only presume he removed his support. What we don't know is WHY he has become reluctant to say he supports women's rights to single-sex spaces. Pic 1 is yesterday, pic 2 just now ...
It will be very interesting to see which MSs sign @natasghar's excellent Statement of Opinion πŸ‘‡on the EHRC Code and the protection of women's rights in Wales. Who could possibly disagree with any of the points? And we are delighted that our own hard work gets a mention too! @WomensRightsNet record.senedd.wales/Statemen…

This court action πŸ‘‡ has been brought by @SexMattersOrg. We are entirely in support. Because, as our policing lead Cathy says: β€œSenior police leaders seem to have forgotten that women and girls have rights too”. β€œPolicewomen deserve protection from the social activism and ideological zeal of their senior officers, who have fallen hook line and sinker for gender ideology". telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06…

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s 2026 and there are MPs who think human beings can’t detect the difference between male and female members of our species with almost-perfect accuracy 🫠
Yesterday, I questioned the Chair of the EHRC about the new Code of Practice, and the harm it poses to trans people and others who do not conform to gender stereotypes. The Code suggests employees of a business or a service should enforce restrictions based on evidence such as β€œthe individual’s physique or physical appearance, behaviour or concerns raised by other service users.” When asked to specify what these would be, the Chair couldn't answer and instead spoke about β€œcommon sense”. The truth is that people would be relying on gender stereotypes, which are harmful not only for trans people but for others as well.

As @WomensRightsNet lead for policing, I’ve supported this important case πŸ‘‡brought by @SexMattersOrg, and will be at the court too. Please support if you can. ❌ No woman should be made to β€˜consent’ to strip search a man.
Female police officers should never be expected to search men who say they are women. We’re in court on 16th June, standing up for officers whose forces think unlawful searches can be allowed β€œby consent”. Will you support our legal challenge? sex-matters.org/take-action/…

🧡 There is no reason to think that professing a gender identity makes a person less likely to fit the offending patterns usual for their sex. In fact, prison data suggests that trans-identifying males may even be more likely to commit sex offences than other men.

1/ I went to Parliament to watch the Women and Equalities Committee. The chair of the EHRC Mary-Ann Stephenson (MAS) and CEO John Kirkpatrick were giving evidence, the other adults in the room were Rosie Duffield and Rebecca Paul MP. Other than that it was the slow kid's table.

This unqualified bore says his secondhand opinions are β€œnot up for debate.” Yes they are. At a university all opinions are up for debate. If you cannot defend your opinions rationally, either they are indefensible or you are too stupid to defend them. In either case you have no right to force them on students who have expressed their wish to attend a lecture by doing so. thetimes.com/uk/education/ar…
