Dyna Gear for the arcade (Scarab/Sammy/1994). Prehistoric-themed run-and-gun game where players control a space cop (Roger) or a wolf-man (Wolf) fighting dinosaurs and aliens. The weapons are crazy and nicely exaggerated, and everything is bright and colorful. Absolute hidden gem, specially because it never left the arcade (no home ports).

The masses aren’t ready for the Thunder Hoop arc.
Too many 90s arcade gems are still trapped on dead hardware. We're fixing that. This Thursday, June 18, we’re dropping the first-ever QUByte ReConnect, a showcase 100% dedicated to bringing retro classics to modern consoles. #retrogames #arcade #90s #nostalgia

It's incredible that so many of us grew up in a time and in countries where a single game could upwards of 20% of your parents' monthly wages, yet we still found ways of playing games. And not once have I ever seen this argument.
Man I would have loved to play god of war, but I couldn’t because I didn’t have s PlayStation or pc as a kid. So I had to watch people like jacksepticeye play it because I couldnt afford a console. To call someone a larper for that is honestly classist and privileged

It's interesting to see how "arcade" used to be a synonym for action but now that term is mostly lost

LARPing epidemic really is an issue that gaming made for itself after years of insisting that games are more than just gameplay and constant accommodation to non-players in-order to get them to experience video game stories. Playing games was made unnecessary on purpose.
I'm willing to accept that you can be a fan without playing on condition that game studios will start again to make games for people who are actually interested in playing them.

Sometimes looking back at these makes me realized how much I love the bold look. Thin and clean pieces are great too, but I think these examples feel more at home... 🫠

And yes, you do have enough time for homework, since it directly builds into what you are making You have no excuse not to do the work

There is no way around it, game design is intuition, and intuition is built from experience That is to say, if you are a beat 'em up developer, go spend 80 hours to 1cc Final Fight before you implement the next function

This is good advise in a vaccum, but if you are a developer reading this you DO not play and study enough games Go get good at the genre you are making, do the homework, or you will make disposable shallow games
