We’re open-sourcing the models, weights and training code for PERSIST, our 1.7B parameter 3D world model! By modelling a dynamic 3D world state instead of relying on pixel histories, PERSIST generates experiences that remain spatially and temporally coherent over thousands of steps. Tom, @kaixin20578389 and I will present PERSIST at @icmlconf in Seoul next month. See you there! Links in thread⬇️ #WorldModels #ICML2026

"Most of the real world is actually the long tail. And how do you learn the long tail as cheaply as possible is one of the most important questions right now." @sarahookr on why GPUs — built for dense, predictable matmuls — are the wrong tool for the world AI is actually moving into. Presented with @Cerebras and @alyciazcary

Xdof is already working with multiple frontier labs to power physical intelligence. Excited for the future of🤖infrastructure
Announcing @xdofai: We’ve raised $70 million to build the core robotic infrastructure ecosystem for robot foundation models. My cofounders Fred (@YideShentu), Nemo (@itsnemojin) and I have been pursuing the dream of general purpose robots for our entire lives. After work at Covariant, Meta and Tesla, it became clear to us that general purpose robots are coming, and we are building XDOF to help make them a reality. For the last two years, we’ve been working behind the scenes to support major labs and companies deploying robots. In us, they have a partner with full-stack expertise, from hardware to operations to policy training. As our first public contribution to the space, we are open-sourcing ABC-130K, the largest open source teleoperation dataset, in collaboration with our partners from UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, MIT and Amazon FAR. Thank you to our customers, partners, collaborators and investors for your trust and conviction in us. Together, we can accelerate the future of robotics!

the only two skills that matter: - kernel engineering - rl environment design
endlessly fascinating how a traditional machine learning background is basically not that helpful for modern AI. we use deep NNs and do SGD with one of two losses. most day-to-day work lies in abstractions *on top* of this layer. everything is really just a massive system of data, models, and rules, piped into each other in different directions ‣ pre-training? that's just data ‣ RL? that's a model plus data generated from that model, plus some rules ‣ post-training? that's a model, plus some data which makes another model, then you use this plus the models's data to make a new model, use that model to make a bunch of other models, then you use all those models to make a model again

We are finally able to show you the most exciting piece we have been building over the past 8 months!! Introducing Eno, our first general-purpose robot platform from Genesis. Eno is minimal by design. Zero unnecessary parts or exposed complexity. Every detail integrated quietly into the body. The future we are building are shaped by the dreams we grew up with. What once lived in imagination now guides what we create, shapes what we choose, and inspires the future we bring into the world.
Humanoid robots don't need to look human. Meet Eno, our first general-purpose robot. Not a machine pretending to be human, but intelligence given a body. At Genesis, we’re building a future where robots don’t feel cold or distant, but capable, calm, and ready to help. Available Q4 this year.

I'm on the way to the @JoinEdgeCity conference where I'm giving a talk on world models. My robot's driving (actually a world model), and I'm reading this getting me up to date. It is a two-hour drive. And I am on an audio space here on X. Life is awesome. Great write up @moritz_reuss!
World-Action Models (WAMs) have become the second dominant recipe for robot foundation models, next to classical VLAs. So where do they come from, and how do they compare vs VLAs? I wrote an small overview of the WAM landscape, with some personal takes: developer.nvidia.com/blog/pr…

Freedom of speech is good
Stanford grads walk out as Google CEO Sundar Pichai takes the stage as commencement speaker. No mention of AI, unlike other uni speakers getting booed down this year. Story for @sfgate shortly

Ah the lightbulb moment 💡 I am implementing the daydreamer paper: arxiv.org/abs/2206.14176 Into the so-101. I will be setting up the stream shortly. There will be a hard ground boundary the arm will refuse to go (so it won't bash into the ground). We will start simple. Pick up a cube and lift it a few cm and place it down. And grow from there. Give me a bit setting up everything 😎

As companies bring us their products with 30g of protein and 9g fiber that bulk us up and make us go more regularly, load us up on horny goat weed, lion’s mane and ashwaganda, hear me out. There will be some incredible products in the next 5 years that win by JUST TASTING GOOD.

Brodsky said somewhere that you could construct a religion out of Auden’s poems. In music, I think the same applies to two artists: Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave.
En 7 ans, deux des fils de Nick Cave sont morts. Sur le deuil, il a déjà écrit: “... if we love, we grieve. That’s the deal.” Chez Colbert, avant-hier, il a partagé une éclairante perspective sur le cynisme et la perte d’espoir. J’en ai pris bonne note.
