Meanwhile, this is what we’re looking at for former @DrivelineBB hitting coaches next season 3 MLB Hitting Coaches 4 in Director level positions 4 in Coordinator roles 2 AAA Hitting Coaches 2 AA Hitting Coaches Many others throughout the rest of MiLB and college baseball with more Orgs constantly reaching out about our staff. That doesn’t happen being “one dimensional”, what we do works whether you like it or not.
Overvaluing bat speed isn’t a good idea. Will definitely lead to lower BAs and higher Ks. Basically making hitters “one dimensional”. Not a good product when hitters swing for HRs every damn pitch. Hitters aren’t made in labs. @MLB @DrivelineBB

Changing the reference point for a hitter can drastically shift their perception of a movement Do the hands move forward through space? Absolutely. Do they move relative to the torso? Barely. Some common reference points are: • Another body part • An external object • Space
Coaches love looking at hand path, but what moves the hands during the swing? In this video, the torso position is fixed. This allows us to see the hand movement in relation to the torso, essentially showing us what the arms are doing. The answer? Not a whole lot.

Very cool visual of what the arms are doing (or really, not doing) during the swing.

Preparing for today's motor learning book club. Drawing some inspiration for the slides from @JasonOchart's old work @DrivelineBB. A timeless classic here in the OG hitting blogs. Not required reading for the meeting today, but STRONGLY recommended. drivelinebaseball.com/2017/0…
