Overvaluing bat speed isn’t a good idea. Will definitely lead to lower BAs and higher Ks. Basically making hitters “one dimensional”. Not a good product when hitters swing for HRs every damn pitch. Hitters aren’t made in labs.

Changing the reference point for a hitter can drastically shift their perception of a movement
Do the hands move forward through space? Absolutely.
Do they move relative to the torso? Barely.
Some common reference points are:
• Another body part
• An external object
• Space

In this video, the torso position is fixed. This allows us to see the hand movement in relation to the torso, essentially showing us what the arms are doing. The answer? Not a whole lot.
