More childish bs. Don’t compare it to football. There needs to be relationship between the C and P. They make the adjustments from pitch to pitch. Not a coach from the side(dugout). Might as well tell your hitters whether to swing or take. Video game bs

Me too!
You can't convince me that NIL money doesn't entitle college players. No way a mid major like Troy should be able to dismantle an SEC pitching staff on this stage. Wonder what the baseball budgets, coaching salaries and NIL disparity is between the schools? The most successful college program isn't always the one that wins the Natty. It's the program that overachieved the most and did more with less.

Going JUCO was the BEST baseball decision that I made in my long professional and MLB career!

It has not “evolved”. With the addition of social media and the good that has come from it, there’s a lot of bad that has come from it too. The “Look at me” it has created and the constant chase for players trying to create their brand has led to a lot of selfishness. Chase the money 💰 and you’ll lose.

I’m “selfish” 🤔 I gave you reality not my opinion! Old guy in me loves your response and mostly agrees. That’s how it should be but for some time athletes have wanted more 💰. The businessman/open minded thinker in me has accepted society has evolved.

Me too! Maybe that what today’s coaches need for former players to speak at these conferences.
I’m fascinated that the @ABCA1945 primarily uses college coaches in their clinics as if they’re the experts! I learned everything I know about fielding and infield defense once I got into professional baseball! I’d be more than happy to tell everyone what I know! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @artofhitting @hittingguru7 @slider_sinker @SliderDom @low_and_outside @TheRealJHair @DMEASrecruiting @VandyonTigers @mikepiazza31 @SalMarinello @RVGDag @AMBS_Kernan @TheKineticArm

I get “what gets them paid” but this is a TEAM game. That kind of selfish thinking is what’s wrong with today’s players and society frankly because they hear it from SELFISH people like yourself. That SELFISH thinking is the reason the product on the field is down.
🤦 Today’s player understands what gets them paid! YOU can’t accept that 🤷‍♂️

These college kids swinging like it’s BP 😆. Not a good inning for Texas first 3. Just so you know…BP and the game are different. These Ps are too good to swing like it’s BP

I understand what he’s trying to accomplish with his infielders, but he just made it more complicated for them. Red ball blue ball throw in a white ball??? If you want them to go to second, tell them just every ground bowl right now we do we’re gonna go to second. I understand that we’re trying to be “creative“ with some drills, but they don’t have to be. Keep it simple.

"We've talked about variability and variation for a long time in infield play...but do we have unpredictability?" Players don't freeze in games because they've never fielded a ground ball. They freeze because the game forces them to make decisions. Are your drills just training execution or are they also training decision-making? Watch this full clinic at ABCA.org/videos or in the My ABCA app!

Coaching has changed the game. Players are being told how to play and are taught unnecessary things instead of refining their play Full chat➡️youtu.be/8w7ga07N-Ho?si=nXDY… @sportswcoleman @MBordick @Jim22Palmer #Orioles #oriolesbaseball #baltimoreorioles #Birdland

My #1 complaint about analytics. It has lowered the standard of "greatness" in every area of the game. 90% of what these people consider great used be considered below average and a ticket back to AAA.

COACHES: You can get the answer without much effort by looking at video, but until you sit down and have a conversation with a hitter, you can't get the understanding. Hitting is a conversation. #GoodBatting

No 💩! But every organization does consistently. Nerds shove their spreadsheets in the players faces.
"All these numbers could be good for coaches but we don't need to tell the players every single stat." @HeathBell21 gives his thoughts on analytics in today's game.

These hitters don’t know any better. They are SURROUNDED by NON BASEBALL people! These orgs are hiring NON BASEBALL people and telling them to coach professionals. Hence a worse product on the field.
Professional Hitters!!!! If you’re wondering why you may be struggling-look who you’re taking hitting advice from! Im blown away the coaches major league guys are seeking counsel from!. It is truly disturbing. You were blessed with a brain, please use it!!!! Take responsibility

Looks like you’re trying to incorporate video games into these training sessions. Not helpful at all imo. But what do I know. I only played this game longer than you’ve been alive.

Okay. But those are not game “swings”. What purpose does it serve to swing that hard?

GREED from these “advisors” is dirtying the waters of college baseball recruiting and the transfer portal. They’re out here pushing players to jump in with big promises of NIL money, revenue share, and a much better home — when the actual numbers show most of that is fantasy for the average kid. Thousands of players enter the portal every year chasing exactly that. But data from the 2025 cycle shows roughly half of baseball players who entered never even appeared in NCAA stats the next season. They didn’t land a roster spot at a new school. 64analytics.com Of the ones who do land somewhere, the median increase in playing time is modest at best — only about 1 in 3 sees their role grow by more than half. And in baseball, real money (beyond a scholarship) is rare for most. The big NIL and revenue-share checks go to a small handful of elite guys. Everyone else is often left chasing ghosts. Stop letting greedy advisors sell you on portal moves that frequently end with no new home, no extra money, and sometimes a worse situation. Performance and real fit still matter more than the hype.

I blame analytics and the constant CHASE for individual metrics! And I know I’m right. #mlb

There’s no such pitch as the “sweeper”. Nerd talk. It’s either slider or cutter

Who better to break down Anthony Bender's incredible sweeper than Adam Ottavino? "The grip he showed was my grip, same grip."
