JOB OPPORTUNITY: Research Scientist Coral Metapopulation Modeller (Australian Institute of Marine Science) careers.aims.gov.au/page.php… You will be joining an innovative multidisciplinary team of ecologists, geneticists, oceanographers and habitat modellers to apply (and further develop) a coral metapopulation modelling framework (C~scape) to reefs on the Northwest Shelf of Australia as part of the Ocean Discovery and Restoration (ODR) Program. In this role you will work collaboratively with AIMS scientists in Western Australia and Townsville, to lead the modelling of coral dynamics using data collected from Ashmore and Mermaid reefs. You will synthesise a wide array of different data types into the model to allow investigation of local variations in coral population dynamics across reef seascapes and apply innovative approaches to propagate uncertainty across the modelling framework as well as project future trajectories of the reef system under different climate and management scenarios.
