Coaches: No matter how big your roster is, make it a point at each practice to connect with each athlete with a simple Hi-5, hand shake, hug, etc.
It gives kids a chance to check in, even if it is just "Hi" or a quick one-liner.
It instantly establishes connection & engagement.

Laurel is heading overseas! ✈️🇬🇧
We’re excited to announce that @Valkyrie_Sports senior, Laurel Maynor will be continuing her tennis career in England this fall.
After four excellent years with the Valkyries, Laurel will travel to the UK later this year to play another season of college tennis and pursue her master's degree in Psychology of Sport and Exercise. 🎓

Bad coaches talk too much and too loudly.
Yelling and talking more than actually teaching.
Great coaches have the ability to communicate something complex and make it simple in less words and lower volumes so that the athletes can understand and apply it.
