With sunny skies earlier today, you'd never know that firefighters responded to 15 small fires caused by lightning storms from Mon.-today. Firefighters and aircraft continue to be on high alert responding to reports of smoke, patrolling the forest, and monitoring burned areas.

I really hope those botany flags were still up and that they saw them. I saw how big some of those burn piles were at one spot. Rx burning needs to be done but with attention for all. :)

#SmokeAdvisory - The #AngelesNF will be conducting a prescribed burn along Big Pines Hwy near Ball Flat outside of Wrightwood starting this morning and into the afternoon. Smoke might be visible nearby. #GoodFire

If you smelled smoke yesterday afternoon could be from the Duncan fire in Fontana. Est 150 acres, 30 units on site, Santa Ana winds pushed smoke towards the ocean. Out in 4 hrs.

We have received calls regarding smoke in parts of Orange County. Currently we do not have any fires in our service area, and the smoke may be drift smoke from the Duncan fire incident in Fontana.

PLEASE only plant trees thru Forest Service affiliates and don't just "do it yourself" without the proper approvals in place. It takes a LOT of effort to undo trees planted in the wrong place. (personal experience!)
