Yesterday, on the eve of Jewish Heritage Month, I was honoured & humbled to join family & our local Jewish community at the @BethJacobKW synagogue in @CityKitchener where we celebrated the entry of Auschwitz survivor & Holocaust educator, Mania Kay to the ROW Hall of Fame.

An incredible letter from the Rebbe to the administrators of the "Keren Dovid lending fund" What's the Keren Dovid gemach? Here's the story: Two 10-year-old boys living in Jerusalem started a pencil lending fund for their class. They named it "Keren Dovid" - Hebrew for Dovid's Fund, named in memory of one of the founders' grandfathers. Being Chabad boys they figured an important initiative like theirs should be brought to the attention of the Rebbe, along with the requisite request for a blessing for success. The Rebbe responded with the letter below. It is addressed to the “administration of Dovid's Fund” (quite an honorific when you consider the fund consisted of two 10 year old kids and a pencil box). After words of blessing and encouragement the Rebbe added in his holy handwriting "attached please find my contribution to partner in your work".... if only we could be as attentive and sensitive to our own children, as the Rebbe was to two children he had never met... @RebbeResponsa
