Loved having my 10 year old ask about the America Competes Act today. So proud of him for taking an interest in our government. We sat down afterwards to contact my good friend @SenThomTillis re the bill. Watch out world - a thoughtful and engaged citizen was born tonight.

I watched Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech again today. What a dream indeed - that “We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal.” What wisdom / what a reminder of that wisdom. Thank you MLK.

My heart is breaking today over the humanitarian and diplomatic crisis taking place in Afghanistan. I’ve watched this evolve for weeks - I don’t know what solution our leaders were going for but this surely isn’t it. This is not a proud day for America - I am devastated.
