Great to see innovation improving veterans’ lives. @meta’s AI glasses program will help blind veterans live more independently, and it’s inspiring to see 82nd Airborne Division veteran Don Overton helping deliver this technology to fellow veterans nationwide. 🇺🇸 about.fb.com/news/2026/06/fr…

This is a huge win for North Carolina. @amazon’s multibillion-dollar partnership with @Corning will create 1,000 new manufacturing jobs, support hundreds more in construction, and invest in the next generation of skilled workers. More jobs. More opportunity. More growth. reuters.com/technology/amazo…

Jay Clayton is an OUTSTANDING choice by President Trump to serve as Director of National Intelligence. Jay is a proven leader with a distinguished record of public service and sound judgment needed to lead our intelligence community. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure his swift confirmation.

Today marks 82 years since American and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy on #DDay. Their courage and sacrifice helped secure freedom and changed the course of history. We honor their legacy and will never forget.

Congratulations to @SenatorCollins on casting her 10,000th consecutive roll call vote in the Senate! There is no one who works harder for their constituents and this milestone is just another example of why she is the most effective U.S. Senator in the nation.

Often overlooked in history, the Donut Dollies brought crucial comfort and a sense of home to troops in Vietnam and beyond. I was proud to work on this bipartisan Senate resolution to ensure their service is recognized and their story is finally told and honored. spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/coa…

Today, on Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. In remembrance of their service and sacrifices, we hold the families of fallen servicemembers in our hearts. May we never forget the freedoms for which they gave everything.

Mr. President, completely agree about having a lot of fun over these next seven months.  But nitpicking? Some of your advisors are telling you to support things like:     - Using billions of taxpayer dollars to compensate convicted felons and thugs who attacked police. (Ed Martin)    - Pushing 50-year mortgages and Elizabeth Warren's housing bill over sound conservative housing policy. (Bill Pulte)    - Using taxpayer money to transform publicly traded companies into state-owned enterprises. (Howard Lutnick)    - Firing our very best generals and not holding Putin accountable for his systematic kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of Ukrainian civilians. (Pete Hegseth)  If opposing these things makes me a RINO, then I gladly accept that nickname.  We need Republicans to do well in November, but the stupid stuff is killing our chances!

The theft and vandalism of Salisbury Veterans Memorial Park is disgraceful and does not reflect North Carolina’s values. We honor our veterans and respect the sacrifices they made for this country. If anyone has information that could help identify those responsible, please contact Salisbury Police.

It was an honor to join the Lumbee Tribe in celebrating this historic and long-overdue moment as they finally received federal recognition after 137 years. I’ve been proud to support these efforts and help ensure Congress fulfilled its promise to the Lumbee community. Last weekend’s celebration was a powerful reminder of the perseverance, strength, and leadership of the Lumbee people.

North Carolina continues to lead in advanced manufacturing! @CaterpillarInc’s investment will create about 600 new jobs in Sanford, helping grow Lee County’s manufacturing sector and opening new opportunities for workers and families in the area. This is great news for North Carolina’s economy. cbs17.com/news/local-news/ca…

The careless decision to reduce our force posture in Europe, along with moves by Pete Hegseth and his political henchmen to force out some of our finest general officers is amateur hour at best and deadly at worst. Hegseth continues to surprise and disrespect our greatest allies and some of our best military professionals with impulsive decisions not grounded in reality or good judgment. If the rumors are true that Hegseth is trying to sideline General Chris Donahue, one of our nation’s finest warfighters, by downgrading U.S. Army Europe-Africa to a 3-star command, he is taking another step down a dangerous path. A step that is not in the best interests of our nation or our servicemembers. General Donahue has dedicated his entire career to upholding the high standards and warrior ethos that Hegseth claims he is restoring to our ranks. Gen. Donahue has led Soldiers at all levels in Airborne (including Ft. Bragg’s 82nd) and Mechanized units, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and our most prestigious special operation units. He deployed over 20 times in support of Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Inherent Resolve, Atlantic Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, and in support of the Sudan crisis. Hegseth would do well to surround himself with more patriots like General Donahue and to get his henchmen, who are not qualified to carry Donahue's bag, out of the Pentagon. Keep your word, Mr. Secretary: choose meritocracy over your mediocre yes-men. notus.org/defense/pentagon-e…

The Clarity Act passed by the Senate Banking Committee is a strong bipartisan compromise to provide the regulatory certainty needed to advance financial innovation. I was proud to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for the past few months, and more work remains in the weeks ahead to make this legislation even better. Let’s get it done.

I'm happy to share that @fema is awarding more than $38 million in reimbursements to North Carolina. This will help Western North Carolina continue its recovery efforts following Helene. Thanks to President Trump and @SecMullinDHS, this is another positive step for our state.
