Someone mentioned to me that @redpandadata is currently running a challenge aiming to cut customers' Confluent bill by 50%: go.redpanda.com/half-conflueβ¦. I'm not directly involved in this battle, but if you believe you're overpaying for the Kafka service, it might be worth giving it a try!

Just came back from Kafka Summit London 2023. It was a great event that brought together thousands of data enthusiasts. I wrote a blog describing my takeaways from #kafkasummit: lnkd.in/g3EwZJvX.
TLDR:
* Cost efficiency is becoming the key thing. @redpandadata and @confluentinc will continue their battle in this domain.
* The stream processing field is getting crowded. @confluentinc, @Decodableco, @aiven_io, @VervericaData are rolling out their own hosted Flink-powered cloud services, while @RisingWaveLabs builds their own stream processing system from scratch.
* Diversified experiences matter. Not just SQL! Python stream processing is also gaining popularity. @Quix_io and @deephaven are the two leading companies!
