Interesting on three accounts. 1. DISD Bill coming soon enough for HMG to have briefed the EU on it, 2. UK-EU engagement taking place at the highest of levels, and 3. the cheery mood music. Auspicious signs for UK-EU adequacy.

Very good follow up discussion with Secretary of State @peterkyle about the UK’s plans for a Digital Information and Smart Data Bill.    We both acknowledged the importance of maintaining high data protection standards to guarantee free and safe data flows across the Channel.  Close cooperation between @EU_Justice and @SciTechgovuk is important also in the context of the forthcoming review of the two Commission’s EU-UK adequacy decisions.
