Benjamin Netanyahu has never faced meaningful consequences from an American president. As long as there are no real costs for undermining U.S. policy, there is little incentive for Israel to change course.
If the goal is to end this conflict, the United States must be willing to use its leverage. As Israel’s largest source of military support, Washington has the ability to hold Israel accountable and push both sides toward a lasting settlement.
Instead, Israel has repeatedly challenged diplomatic efforts, disrupted negotiations, and openly boasted its ability to shape the outcome.
What does the new U.S.-Iran MOU actually accomplish, and will it bring the region closer to peace?
