This is a major problem in many schools and districts because textbook companies often ignore current research. In most cases, there are few or zero options for teachers to use real books. This is a travesty, and we must do better. Reading real books leads to deeper learning.
I just learned that Wonders is the most-used elementary ELA curriculum in Massachusetts, according to CEMD, in addition to its popularity in CA, FL, and TX.
