Authors should never crash out about a negative review. No matter how unreasonable it was, crash outs only ever make you look bad
Ironic promotion or mockery of it is good, but throwing a tantrum to try and gin up some pity reviews is deeply cringe

So let me see if I have this straight:
1) reviews are for readers
2) authors should never question or critique a review
3) authors owe it to readers to be ‘honest’ when writing reviews
4) questioning an author’s review is acceptable
5) in fact, authors should be shunned if they praise a book deemed weak

We spent almost 80 years saving Europe and for what? You to whine about the job we did? Fuck off and fix yourself.
If America really wanted to “save Europe” it wouldn’t be take such a hostile posture. A hostile posture guarantees a hostile response. Whatever you aim to achieve, the opposite will happen.
But America doesn’t really want to save Europe. It just wants to vassalise it.
