Postdoctoral researcher @ImperialLifeSci@CBRB_Imperial studying bacteria-host interactions, with a focus on immunity. Loves cats and good food #T1D. She/her.
Our next speaker in this session is @AudreyPeters25@ImperialInfect showcasing her work on phage-bacteria interactions in complex environments, spanning in vitro and in vivo models. #LINEsymposium2025
Great start to the day with our plenary and session 1! Time for a mid-morning refreshment break #LINEsymposium2025! Do check out our #MHFA stall and chat to our sponsors when you have a chance. Don't miss out on our sponsor bingo, there are prizes to win!
And we’re off with the session 1 of selected abstracts at #LINEsymposium2025: first up @ATLopezJimenez@LSHTM showcasing a novel proximity labelling approach to discover mechanisms of cell-autonomous immunity against bacteria.
TGIF! Happy Friday!
Our symposium is just around the corner!
The FINAL PROGRAMME is out! Take a look: londoninfection.wixsite.com/…
It's a full day of infection science and registration is still open: shorturl.at/wLyWY

ALT This is a poster advertising the LINE scientific symposium aimed at early career researchers working in infection. Displayed is an electron microscope image showing two salmonella bacteria attached to a cells causing the cell membrane to ripple. Below the image, the organisational details about the symposium are shown.

Very happy to see this out, although beware, its a pre-proof & not perfect (yet 😝). This was several years of hard work and a lot of confusing results, & was made possible by a big collective effort, thank you! Big thanks to Flow queens Jess & Larissa @ImperialSci
ALT Neutrophils (Ly6G CD11b ) get to the site of infection (colonic lumen) when infected with CRi9, the hyperinflammatory CR mutant. Also, one of my favourite pictures from the manuscript.
We are happy to share our recent publication linking severe infectious colitis with reduced migration of neutrophils to the infection site, leading to their accumulation in the submucosa where they undergo NETosis causing tissue damage: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
I'm recruiting a Postdoc for a comparative innate immunity project to define cross-species mechanisms of pathogen sensing, in collaboration with @ClareBryant13 and Sandhya Ganesan. Can involve travel to partners in India. Please RT. Full advert here: jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/47019/
