It’s always fascinated me that college and professional sports organizations with the best coaches in the world trust qualified S&C coaches to handle performance. But at the high school level, coaches with no background at all often wear that hat. Put the kids first before ego.

Due to the current climate in high school sports and school settings, the majority of athletes will graduate having never worked with a truly qualified and capable strength and conditioning coach.

Private skill trainers who know their high school kids are training six days a week with their high school program and push them to come do extra skill sessions at night/after Saturday games/on Sundays are negligent. It’s no surprise how injured / beat up and physically underdeveloped our kids are.

The weight room is the most influential room in a school. It’s not a place to hang out — it’s a classroom. A place where habits are built, standards are set, and character is developed.

People always ask what makes DST different. Truth is, we don't run some cookie-cutter program and call it a day. We actually sit down and figure out what matters right now for each kid or athlete. 8-12 year olds?
