A cinematic artist in the gaming industry gave harsh critiques of this Halo Campaign Evolved cinematic on LinkedIn: “It's hard to believe that this Cinematic for one of gaming's most iconic levels is what Halo Studios is shipping, but it appears to be. From the original 18-second cinematic, which had: -A great establishing shot, showing the scale of the area, reinforcing the rings grand architecture -Sleeping grunts, foreshadowing upcoming ambush gameplay (you're making a game, remember?) -A quick gag of the grunts running scared We now have a bloated 30-second cinematic of: -A more constrained establishing shot. -Doorway framing, a cinematic language of its own not appropriate for a scene like this -Grunts awkwardly... arguing? Standing around? Flailing their arms? What are they even doing? Why are we watching them do this for so long? -A stupid compression-effect shot on the grunt, so clearly made by someone just ITCHING to make a shot like this -Inappropriate for Halo, an enemy, and for a character who you cant even see the face of. -The cherry on top is the fully disconnected lighting between the cinematic and the gameplay space as the cinematic ends Stuff like this needs to be rightly criticized, and all the more for remakes, which should have none of the confusion and cross-department bickering as new games might. You're remaking a game. You know the space. You know the story. You should know the intent.”

Teaming has gotten so bad in ARC Raiders that we just fought an 8-man team in duos, dumped a couple of them and slipped away to extract. There some special streamer shit going on or wtf?

Post from Nov. 12th. Arc Raiders will NOT get better with the current management and low skill developers at Embark. The Finals has already proven that. Anyone thinking otherwise is both misinformed and delusional.

These are ceremonial bins
Bins and other projectiles have now been thrown at police officers policing the flash protest outside Southampton Central Police Station. Whilst I do not endorse violence, this is being seen by many as an inevitable reaction to the killing of our children. Our country is unsafe.

Responsible Disclosure requires a responsible company to receive it. It was never meant to be some abusive relationship where these companies demand and we all have to acquiesce. We can all agree that MSRC can be difficult to deal with at the best of times. Given that they chose to personally cause issues for this researcher, I can understand why he chose this path. MSFT's choice of deplatforming him just shows that they're willing to take down accounts and get personal when it suits them. If it's a ToS Violation, then there's a bunch of accounts who should've been taken down as well. If it's targeted then the question should be for everyone, what arbitrary line do you have to cross? Ultimately we have a company that does not act in the public good, demanding that you interact with it in the ways that they want, or else they'll cripple your ability to work on the modern infra that powers the web.

If you were ever wondering why people ragehack in ARC Raiders, here's an example of a mentally debilitated loser with 0.37KD on FACEIT who calls themselves "Insane at CS" through an alt. Same with the weeb duo. Just in case you were wondering what kind of subhuman it takes.

For privacy reasons I'm not sharing everything, but this also serves to show how easily these accounts are tied together. Cheaters make zero effort. Embark rarely bans any of these people - and if they do they're temporary suspensions which don't extend to IP/HWID/Fingerprint.

Serious allegations regarding Riot’s Vanguard anti-cheat system continue to grow, including: • Claims that a Vanguard developer worked on a Vanguard spoofer called "Saturn" and other cheat related projects (a Javelin Anti-cheat Emulator) • Claims that another Vanguard developer also defended the first Vanguard developer to EA and said he was not part of Riot • Concerns that Vanguard may not fully delete user data after GDPR requests • A leaked Vanguard panel screenshot appeared online • Allegations that the first Vanguard developer mentioned also sent gifs in Discord servers containing signatures of a cheat blacklisted by Riot to ban legit people via Discord as Vanguard would think that the gif on your Discord is a cheat. • Claims that a third Vanguard developer leaked Vanguard blacklisted signatures and private information • Concerns that Vanguard can capture activity outside of League/Valorant when tabbing out often This post reflects my personal opinion and interpretation. It does not claim any verified facts, and should not be taken as a statement of proven truth.

Different era of Annapurna's publishing record. No astroturfing, industry plants, or journalist bribes. Little marketing, real indie upcomings (e.g., Outer Wilds) and actually good games. (They also required you to interact with the game, also known as gameplay)
NO ONE complained about the Nepo Baby when they enjoyed these games.
Community note
Annapurna Interactive's entire staff resigned in September 2024 amid failed negotiations to spin off independently, citing issues with owner Megan Ellison's leadership; the listed games were published before this. variety.com/2024/digital/n…

SECURITY ADVISORY — TanStack npm packages A supply-chain compromise affecting 42 @tanstack/* packages (84 versions total) was published to npm earlier today at approximately 19:20 and 19:26 UTC. Two malicious versions per package. Status: ACTIVE — packages are deprecated, npm security engaged, publish path being shut down. Severity: HIGH — payload exfiltrates AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Vault credentials, GitHub tokens, .npmrc contents, and SSH keys. If you installed any @tanstack/* package between 19:20 and 19:30 UTC today, treat the host as potentially compromised: • Rotate cloud, GitHub, and SSH credentials immediately • Audit cloud audit logs for the last several hours • Pin to a prior known-good version and reinstall from a clean lockfile Detection — the malicious manifest contains: "optionalDependencies": { "@tanstack/setup": "github:tanstack/router#79ac49ee..." } Any version with this entry is compromised. The payload is delivered via a git-resolved optionalDependency whose prepare script runs router_init.js (~2.3 MB, smuggled into each tarball at the package root). Unpublish is blocked by npm policy for most affected packages due to existing third-party dependents. All 84 versions are being deprecated with a SECURITY warning, and npm security has been engaged to pull tarballs at the registry level. Full technical breakdown, complete package and version list, and rolling status updates: github.com/TanStack/router/i… Credit to the security researcher for responsible disclosure.
