The many mandates used to constrain/hinder public education are quickly dismissed from voucher bills because āno school would want to participate otherwiseā or simply because common sense tells the legislators those mandates cause so many problems.
Why wonāt legislators ease burdens on public ed at the same time in same way?

There is no more disingenuous talking point in Texas politics than this school funding number. It includes STAAR test contracts, prison ed, and even ISD bond debt to mask that the basic allotment hasn't grown since 2019 and needs to add $1200 just to keep up with inflation.

Hereās the sad reality in Texas:
Spending per student is up 48% (inflation up just 35%) while 8th grade math proficiency is down 40% since 2011.
Arguing for more taxpayer money to a failing government school monopoly system should be laughed out of the room.
Bring universal school choice to Texas.

The Texas House is all that matters.
1.Will Rural Republicans have the courage to vote their district, OR vote with Abbott to avoid a primary?
2.Will home and private school supporters vote to avoid government intrusion in their childrenās education ?
The SB 2 hearing, committee vote and inevitable Texas senate passage means nothing.
A voucher bill passes every session in the Dunn/Wilks/Patrick controlled Senate.
