THE PROFITEERS: The system that finances education is rigged to incentivize more spending and more borrowing of your property tax dollars every year, and that is why educational outcomes will never improve and why your taxes will never go down. Watch this.

Deaths of despair are a key indicator that something in our country is going wrong, @BradWilcoxIFS tells @TPPF's Family Front. Americans who are not married, especially working-class men, are way more likely to suffer deaths of despair.

Higher education is in trouble — and grades are losing their meaning, according to a Yale committee. The University of Texas at Austin is no exception. An American-Statesman analysis found that the trend is even more pronounced at the Forty Acres, where two-thirds of grades recorded were A’s, and 87% of grades were a B- or better in fall 2025. statesman.com/news/education…

All they care about is money. They won’t explain why pub ed spends $104 billion per year and half our kids can’t read or write at grade level. And they won’t explain how pouring billions more into the system will change that. They just expect more money every year to do the same thing.
How did the wealthiest state in the most powerful nation on Earth arrive at a public school crisis? Not by accident. By design, writes Jorge Meave, a retired bilingual educator and administrator with 30 years of experience in the Austin, Round Rock and Del Valle school districts. statesman.com/opinion/column…

💥NEW: Greg Gutfeld ROASTS Jasmine Crockett over her Karmelo Anthony comments🤣 “She says we don’t know what it’s like to be a black woman and that’s true. But she doesn’t know what it’s like to be a white man. A white man like me. I can’t afford to be as stupid as she is.” “I have to try harder — because I’m going to be called all sorts of names — but she can say whatever she wants.” “We have an incredibly low bar for black Leftist commentary. If any white person said that stuff about the murder of a black kid, it would be the apocalypse.” “But on the Left, every heartless bozo gets a hall pass.”

The disturbing trend of university graduates rejecting commencement speakers who tell them the truth is emblematic of a much deeper problem in American higher education. We need to rebuild our institutions of higher learning and we need to start now. 👇 foxnews.com/opinion/campus-g…

.@SecRollins sets the record STRAIGHT: “DOGE cuts had zero to do with it. When we walked in the door in late January 2025, there were only 10 full-time USDA staff focused on New World screwworm. Today, we have more than 120 full-time staff focused on this issue — a 1,000% increase. So the idea that DOGE caused this could not be further from the truth. What we did was reallocate resources and prioritize what matters, ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively while leaning in aggressively on preparedness."

The TX SBOE is finalizing the adoption of a new reading list this month that supports literacy and knowledge of Texas students. But leftist organizations, like the Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts, are fighting to adopt a weak, politically driven list instead.

"Economic growth in Texas must strengthen our grid and respect the rights of Texans, not burden them." — TPPF CEO Greg Sindelar. We stand with Gov. Abbott's directives to protect Texas ratepayers and ensure responsible data center development. 👇 texaspolicy.com/press/tppf-a…
Governor Abbott directed the PUC and ERCOT to protect Texans from footing the bill for data centers. His plan requires data centers to cover their own infrastructure costs, lowers transmission costs for residents, and safeguards Texas communities and natural resources.

Great news for Texas education: More high school students met grade-level expectations this year across every subject area, with progress across all student groups.   Last session, the Texas Legislature invested in classrooms, backed teachers, empowered parents, and put the focus back on learning with reforms like banning cell phones during the school day. The latest results show those measures are paying off.   More students are not only meeting grade level, but mastering foundational subjects like algebra, biology, English, and U.S. history—including among economically disadvantaged students, special education students, and emergent bilingual students.   Thank you to all the students, parents, and educators whose hard work is driving this progress and opening doors for the next generation.   The Texas House and Senate aren’t done supporting our students. Next session, we’ll continue working with Governor Abbott to build on this momentum so that every student graduates prepared for the opportunities ahead.

💯 The push for the 765-kV lines by the majors is driven entirely by corporate net-zero goals. No other justification makes sense. They just won’t admit it.
Hmm…why do west TX oil and gas operators desperately want more grid power? They have all the nat gas they need (basically $0 cost). If you had an endless supply of fuel to make electricity, would you still want to bring in power from hundreds of miles away, just because?

Whoever wrote the letter either didn’t read @TPPF’s report or doesn’t understand it. The report correctly and unequivocally demonstrates that STEP is unreliable, unaffordable, and unnecessary. TPPF has said consistently that the PUC should expedite local transmission in the Permian Basin. What Texas and the Permian Basin do not need is a massive $33 billion project that creates no new generation, increases costs, and ignores property rights. Better alternative plans exist that provide the energy the PB needs. Lawmakers should pause the STEP proposal and consider those plans before pushing Texas further in the wrong direction.
Busy day on the electricity front: the O&G associations sent this letter today to #txlege leadership/PUC/ERCOT backing the transmission buildout to West Texas, criticizing the @TPPF white paper from the other week. Background on this 765-kV issue and that paper: texasbullpen.com/daily-bull/…
