Great news for Texas education: More high school students met grade-level expectations this year across every subject area, with progress across all student groups.
Last session, the Texas Legislature invested in classrooms, backed teachers, empowered parents, and put the focus back on learning with reforms like banning cell phones during the school day. The latest results show those measures are paying off.
More students are not only meeting grade level, but mastering foundational subjects like algebra, biology, English, and U.S. history—including among economically disadvantaged students, special education students, and emergent bilingual students.
Thank you to all the students, parents, and educators whose hard work is driving this progress and opening doors for the next generation.
The Texas House and Senate aren’t done supporting our students. Next session, we’ll continue working with Governor Abbott to build on this momentum so that every student graduates prepared for the opportunities ahead.
