Speaking as a conservative… the talking point of the “economy” being great because the stock market is at “all time highs” doesn’t matter to the average American who cares more about the cost of groceries, utility bills, gas, etc. You’re out of touch with normal people.
Replying to @TheChadWithrow
So were you angrier about life four years ago? Because it cost more than for gas. Inflation was also higher. All objective economic measures are better now than they were then. But consumer sentiment was higher then.

Tony, you get it… can you explain how a fairly large minority of Jazz fans would be willing to trade legitimate assets (Ace, multiple firsts, etc) to move up from 2 to 1 when the guy at 2 is a great prospect/fit?
Why would they do that?

The Jazz getting the second pick is the perfect scenario. Takes the Dybantsa decision out of their hands when Peterson is easily the best roster fit. @hansenjames @Tjonesonthenba

This has happened numerous times. Jazz run out players 5-15 in their rotation vs. teams’ 1-10 (with maybe one player in the 2-5 range out). Is the gap in NBA talent that narrow, is Will Hardy that good, are Oscar Tshiebwe and Co real rotation guys, or am I missing something?
I just know the Ainge’s are side eyeing the Denver bench right now…..

@DLocke09 With the dust now settled, can you touch upon what you perceive the market being for Kessler in RFA? Seems like the Bulls are the only logical fit when taking into account cap space and need for a C…? #askloj

Quick follow up: after the JJJ trade it seems like the Jazz HAVE to keep WK even if that means matching an offer in the $30 million AAV range. However that would cause big financial problems quickly with a Keyonte extension looming, correct?

Agree with the caveat that the best route for the Browns long term would have been getting 1.2, trading down for additional picks, riding Shadeur for 2026, suck in 2026, and go into 2027 with a top 5 pick an additional first with a cleaned up cap sheet.

I only care about the best long term outlook of the Cleveland Browns. In a 4 win season, your best chance to improve is the highest draft pick possible. I'll die on that logical hill. Hate me for it if you want.

Please explain how. Free agent class of 2026 stinks. Only “stars” seemingly available this season/off season are Ja, Trae, and Zion. Can acquire them with space, but one of those current team and no 2026 top 5 pick has a ceiling of first round fodder.
Don’t trade him. Build around him.

Do this if you’re content rooting for a team that will win between 35-45 games a year for the next 4-5 years with a ceiling of a gentleman’s sweep in the first round

If Lauri Markkanen has turned into a player that’s so good you can’t tank with him on a horrible roster, then just roll with it The Utah Jazz roster is so young. They’ll get much better. Roll with what you have if Lauri is that good. Ace Bailey and the others will catch up.
301
Draft projections aren’t a sure thing, but if there is a 50% chance the top 3-5 players in this draft are as good as Lauri is now BEFORE factoring in salary and years of control… trading Lauri to ensure that coin flip is a no brainer

@DLocke09 recent trades suggest AA has a more coherent team building strategy (tear it down, go young, lose organically) than the previous decision makers (re-sign Clarkson, not selling off everyone post Rudy/DM trades, not selling high on Lauri). Cont’d…

Why do you think DA and/or ownership was unwilling to bite the bullet several years ago and what - if anything - changed? Seems like the last few years were kind of a waste of time?

Buying every piece of Yaxel stock I can get (assuming he stays in)
Oh I think there is a chance of some really good players available at 21 Nique Clifford Rasheer Fleming Will Riley Walter Clayton Liam McNeeley Danny Wolf (everyone and they momma mocking the white guy to the Jazz there) Among others

@KenCarman most dangerous thing for a franchise is a GM on the hot seat. The fans want decisions that are best for THE FRANCHISE. Assuming you were the lifetime GM, what would you do at 2? Guessing not reaching for a QB?

The franchise being put in this position with a GM on the hot seat is an ownership mistake. Whether you like Berry or not, you either give him a 2-3 year guarantee or fire him 2 months ago.

Seems like the plan is going into the 2026 off-season with Lauri, Walker, 2 top 5 picks, multiple young players who COULD be rotation guys, and $80-$100 million in cap space… thoughts? @Tjonesonthenba
Keldon Johnson is owed almost 50 million on his contract and has multiple years beyond this season remaining. The Jazz are t trying to trade a long term contract Why would they do this?

As awesome as your NBA coverage is, it reinforces what every small market fan understands: all fake trades involving big market teams aren’t based in reality. Still waiting for the Lakers to trade a single first for KD, Steph, etc. You should be better than this.
Picks too.

Give me the rookie who shows “wow” flashes once in a blue moon over the 24 year old rookie who is “steady”
He’s starting to look like an nba player

1. This is 100% correct. Almost every club was taken out of the bag in this game. Will Hardy is that good 2. The Magic team on the floor tonight was pathetic 3. The Jazz will continue to see teams resting players against them
The Jazz might send Will Hardy on an LDS mission to be served in Abu Dhabi, at this point

If Jakob Poeltl went for a lotto pick, Kessler on his contract, age, etc is way more valuable than what would probably amount to 2 firsts in the 20-30 range. Lakers will never go through a long rebuild. Location/desirability will always attract the next big free agent

A straw man fallacy (sometimes written as strawman) is the informal fallacy of refuting an argument different from the one actually under discussion, while not recognizing or acknowledging the distinction. - wikipedia
No it isn’t. You accused me snarkily of not doing something that I have done. I’m simply returning your energy

Last thing I will say - and this is an issue with our country today - “energy” isn’t a debate/argumentative tactic. It reduces what could be productive conversations to garbage. Logic, criticism/response, open dialogue (which you are awesome at) is the way!

Thank you for the clarity. My issue - I suppose - is a lack of admonishing the franchise in decisions/moves they DON’T make to improve their lottery odds. I get that might not be your job. Just venting frustration akin to @hansenjames and @slcdunk again, love your work and input
My job is to report what is happening both big picture and in a vacuum This tweet is what was factually happening at the time of the tweet I have repeatedly in the big picture said that the Jazz tanking is the right move this season Like, more than repeatedly
