I feel the difference is that MOTU presented it as Adam’s innocence and his admiration towards the great heroes of Eternia. Which makes when they embrace it more endearing and showing how Adam is already changing his world to be more fantastical than it already is.
WhereI personally stand on the whole poking at the names of characters in the new MOTU movie...
I fucking hated the scene at the main guys laughing at Doctor Octopus's name in No Way Home, & I still do.
I could do without it in the MOTU movie but I didn't hate it quite as much.

Certain people get way too attached to certain eras of the character, notably Pre-Crisis fans.
These types of people seem to make up a version of Superman who only ever existed in their heads, and act just like Spidey editorial.

It’s always interesting when you find out the Monarch was originally supposed to be a “one ‘n done” villain for the first season, but the creators reconsidered when they realized they didn’t like Baron as much nor found him as interesting. To think, we almost lost him for mid.
VB did this in a really funny way because Baron Underbheit went from being one of Rusty's two big arches alongside the Monarch to being a homeless bum who kinda doesn't contribute to the Revenge Society at all and everyone knows it.

So I had an idea for what I want the Horseman of “conquest” to look likE in my Story. They Have a rEally neat Silk Lined tuxedO and Towers a bit over tHe other horsemen. He also has an albino sloth pet that lounges around his neck to go with his white horse.

We should have gotten another attempt at it right now. A fun arena fighter with all the characters from throughout the eras would be great. It sucks that the only game we have is that really bad “Masters of Teras Kasi”.

The series is going to fade to the void just like that Voltron series and the She-Ra reboot. Its art direction is bland, its characters are boring, and the level of “creativity” is very subpar. A show that heavily relies on anime instead of just being a fucking comic book.

HOnestly it's worth a watch, the only reason i'm harping on this is because we need more movies like this. This a great return to form.

On the subject of “Do we need to take He-Man seriously?”, I think we’re asking the wrong question. It should be “Can He-Man be fun and serious?” and I think that answer is yes.
It’s a silly franchise, but that you can’t take things seriously while still having fun.

I wish we got more jokes about the different eras found things attractive from the modern perspective. Like, characters go back in time for whatever reason, get your classic “of the era” group, and have them experience that situation with bafflement.

I mean, it's pretty easy to just have that you buy the characters with in-game money. Just collect coins to buy your fave and repeat. Not to mention they can also just make an all new and original adventure for the characters that requires swapping out and stuff.
