Decided to take a break from other work and try to put JSW on an unexpanded VIC-20 (3.5k) with disk drive. Working: movement, guardians, ramps (imperfect), conveyors, room transitions, hazards, picking up items. Still to do: counting items, ropes (with an overlay), end game, UI.
I just finished up Unity Underground, an engine port of a classic 1992 immersive simulation.

Created with Gemini 2.5. Initial prompt was "make an html ray tracer to reproduce the classic cylinder on checkerboard illusion" but it took a bit of back and forth to get the lighting right and add the A and B labels.
I needed a way to quickly browse sound files, and nothing I downloaded worked. Five minutes later, Gemini 2 and I had a working app with autoplay of sounds, and an hour later, it also supported images and text files, with a search feature and a recent folders list.
