Susan's vision is what helped launch the Lung Cancer Genetics Study. We're proud to help continue her mission to better understand how genetics and the environment affect lung cancer risk. #LCSM #LungCancer #CancerResearch
Carrying out Susan’s mission is an important initiative for our family. Susan was shocked when she learned she had lung cancer and even more surprised to learn that it’s the number one cancer killer. susanwfoundation.org

If you read one thing this week, read today's @nytimes piece by @SimarSBajaj bit.ly/49ABdvd It names a truth people with #lungcancer live with every single day. This well-written article makes it clear that stigma doesn't just hurt people emotionally; it is a life or death barrier. People delay diagnosis, care, and support because they're afraid of being judged. Lung cancer is not a morality story. And nicotine addiction isn't a bad habit or personal failure - It's a DISEASE and should be treated that way, with compassion and evidence-based care, not judgment. Thank you, @JimPantelas, for always being so open and honest. And thank you, @drCarterBawam, @hawkeyestudts, @NarjustFlorezMD, and others, for continuing to remind people of the most basic truth: no one 'earns' this disease and no one 'deserves' it! Please help change the conversation and shift the narrative from shame and blame to hope and humanity. #KilltheStigma #LCSM #WordsMatter

Did you know that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer? When Susan Wojcicki, former CEO of @YouTube, was diagnosed, she wanted to know why. Check out @LostWomenofSci's new episode and @23andMe's new blog to learn what Susan's experience can teach us about lung cancer #LCAM25

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer is consistently one of the world’s deadliest cancers, responsible for more cancer deaths globally each year than any other type. This is due in part to late detection and the aggressive nature of many lung cancers. On yesterday’s Lost Women of Science podcast, Anne and Janet Wojcicki opened up about their sister Susan and her battle with lung cancer. You can listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/3zM… Thank you to the 20 advocacy organizations whose dedication and voices continue to raise critical awareness for lung cancer and accelerate progress in lung cancer research with Troper Wojcicki Philanthropies and 23andMe. @ALKPositiveinc @BrafBombers @egfrresisters @exon20group @free_lung @go2forlungcancr @lcfamerica @LC_Initiative_ @lcrf_org @LUNGevity @metcrusaders @OncogeneCancer @NTRKers @retpositive @retrenegades @ros1cancer @UpstageLungCanc @younglungcancer @LCGeneticsStudy

Just in time for #WCLC25! The NEW @IASLC Language Guide is available — and it now includes abbreviations to help with abstract writing under tight word limits. Abbreviations were created to help members apply person-first language in contexts with strict word limits, such as abstracts and presentations, without compromising core values of respect, dignity, and inclusion — helping scientists to submit more concise, respectful, patient-centered abstracts. Check out the updated Language Guide here: iaslc.org/IASLCLanguageGuide #LCSM #WordsMatter
