Since the 1940s, only 5 clubs (Arsenal, Manchester City, Spurs, Sunderland, West Ham) have moved into new stadiums larger than the one David Gandler would like to build.
Here's why we need to think carefully about whether that's a good idea...

The FA and Premier League turn a blind eye to Todd Boehly’s Vivid Seats selling FA Cup semi final tickets for more than a grand.
These organisations are supposed to be the guardians of the game, yet they show the backbone of a jellyfish and the voice of an Easter Island statue when it comes to speaking up for those who built the game, the fans.
Given the silence we have seen over the prices being charged to England and other fans for the World Cup, up to £149 for the new England shirt (that costs £10-15 to produce) perhaps we should not be surprised by the FA’s inaction…but disappointed certainly.

Finances for all League One teams are now in (some clubs do not submit full figures) so here is a summary for 2024/25.
Revenue averaged 12.5m but skewed at the top end by Birmingham and Wrexham with well over £33m each (and of course both were promoted).
This compares to an average of £9.9m in 23/24 and £10.7m in 22/23.
We are still awaiting results from Rotherham and Huddersfield, but League One clubs between them have managed to accumulate over £1 billion pounds in losses over the years for the first time since records began, so here is a deep(ish) dive into the finances for 2024/25
A £15m loss in L1 last season 🤯 just goes to show what we were up against last season at #lofc . I now understand why some of the Charlton directors looked so nervous in the directors box at last season's playoff final.

One message: #KeepFootballHome
We stand united against the relocation of domestic league games abroad.
4 years after the super league, football faces a new existential threat.

ALT We, supporters’ groups from across Europe, representing millions of football fans, express our firm opposition to the ongoing attempt to subvert the rules of the game by allowing leagues to relocate games elsewhere around the world.
The latest efforts to disrupt the nature of European football with La Liga and Serie A trying to relocate games to the United States and Australia are a direct attack on the essence of football.
Should either of these leagues’ proposals be allowed to go ahead, it would instantly open a Pandora’s box with unpredictable and irreversible consequences. Every club, every national team, every fan base globally would be at risk of seeing the team they love taken away from them, relocated to another part of the world, for one game or more. Or see other countries’ competitions knock on their door, just as La Liga and Serie A’s presence would disrupt domestic football and fan culture in the United States and Australia.
Football is based on a set of rules and p
ALT Clubs are neither entertainment companies nor traveling circuses. They exist for the benefit of their communities and provide a sense of belonging, where fans have been attending home games for generations. Breaking this vital bond, even temporarily, would undermine the cultural, social, and local roots that give our game its meaning.
The concept of flying players, staff, fans, and others across oceans for a “home” game is absurd, unaffordable, and environmentally irresponsible. It goes against European football’s stated commitment to sustainability and accessibility for all. It risks surrendering our clubs and our leagues to the will of entertainment companies, dictatorships, or vulture funds, whose interests in taking European football away from its home go against the very fabric of our sport.
Four years after European football stood united and defeated the super league, we are facing a similar existential threat. We invite fans, players, media, governments, and football officia

❌ Don’t be misled by the “just one game” claim from @LaLiga & @SerieA. Once a match is played abroad, more will follow.
👇 Serie A’s president has already admitted he wants an entire matchday staged outside Italy.
This was an incredibly hard decision for the supporter representatives on the West Ham United Fan Advisory Board to make.
We sent this to the shareholding board directors last Friday pm.
We will continue to work to try to improve things for supporters .
