ALT ATS 2024, San Diego CA, May 17-22 Session: Postgraduate Course. PG13. Type 2 asthma and beyond: molecular mechanisms, physiology, and treatment. May 18, 2024, 8:00am-4:00pm Description: This session will provide a state of the art summary of the current understanding of the mechanisms, physiology and management of immune mediated airway diseases such as asthma and COPD, with a focus on type 2 inflammation. The course will also present a comprehensive review of the factors that influence disease progression and the current management paradigm.
ALT The Immune Dictionary is a large-scale compendium of single-cell transcriptomic profiles of more than 17 immune cell types in response to each of 86 cytokines in vivo, a reference for understanding the complex immune system. The image lists the 86 cytokines, representing almost all major cytokines in the immune system, studied in the dictionary. ALT Advances in Motion Allergy Asthma Pulmonary and Critical Care Research reveals novel molecular mechanisms specific to allergic asthma Article | Published on June 2, 2023 In this article: Physician-investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital published findings that distinguish the molecular mechanisms of asthma from allergy alone. Combined application of a human experimental model and single-cell RNA sequencing analysis revealed cellular crosstalk and gene-expression profiles distinct to asthmatics. This represents the first study to identify differences between allergic asthmatics and allergic non-asthmatics in the transcriptional profile of the airways.
