Congratulations to my great friend Wolfgang Kuebler, who received the Comroe Award and Lectureship from the American Physiological Society. Wolfgang’s impact on endothelial physiology cannot be overstated. I am grateful for his friendship, teaching, and advice over many years.
The annual Massachusetts Thoracic Society meeting is off to a great start @MassThoracic. So many great pulmonologists from across the state getting together to catch up. Special thanks to President Kai Saukkonen and President Elect @FinnHawkins.
The samples in this study survived a nuclear disaster, global pandemic, and mass shooting (ask me offline) to provide some solid pilot data for future planned work.
Glad these events are behind us, and kudos to @SarahKatsandres & team for persisting.

What an honor to have Dr. Robert Brown, a leader and legend in our division, share his reflections on his career for Grand Rounds. Dr. Brown shared many stories and lessons and left us with a final challenge: to keep MGH a great community with providers who feel part of a team.
ALT Lessons:
The road is bumpy; failure is a step in the process of succeeding.
Accept when things are not perfect and don't let that get in the way.
The best experiment is the one most likely to disprove the hypothesis.
Celebrate when you find you have been wrong about something: it is an opportunity to learn.
ALT Lessons:
DDX should always include the possibility that what everyone has been thinking is wrong.
Brain-body interactions are profound.
Be inclusive, tolerant, enjoy/celebrate differences amongst us.
Don't rush to judgement: gather the facts.
Don't tolerate abuse.
Two great faculty WIP today from @rsknipe, @LabMedoff relating to lung fibrosis! Dr. Knipe focused on endothelial cell signaling, including recently published work in @AJRCMB.
