Thanks to follow open water swimmer & triathlete Finnish President @alexstubb who took time out to discuss open water swimming on my flight from Helsinki today, after I took part in #swimthearcticcircle event last weekend. Good luck for your swim at the weekend.

@LeanderMasters first open water event yesterday, they obviously do their age classification on how old the competitor looks rather than actual age as they have me down as 'open'....

With no updates since this tweet, I am dissappointed to discover that this event has had it date changed and switched to a venue, not in the midlands, 2 Β½ hours from most East Midland cities and 90 minues from Birmingham tinyurl.com/too-far

@LeanderMasters not a bad start to the open water season, thereβs a bit of time to come off that, faffing around with watch at start and thereβs that silly thing when triathletes organise a swim where you have to run 50 metres when you finish rather than tap a gantry

Once again @LENaquatics demonstrate how out of touch they are with Masters athletes. Euro Champs under same conditions as the disaster that was London2016. Only 3 events each, crazy ££, canβt see team mates race. No grazie
