We are deeply grateful for Chancellor Ferebee’s eight years of service to our students, schools, and city. Under the leadership of our longest-serving Chancellor, graduation rates reached 78%, enrollment grew to more than 52,000 students, and DC became a national leader in academic recovery. These achievements are the result of clear focus, strong vision, and a shared commitment to our students. We are proud to see his impact extend beyond the District, and know his leadership will continue to shape the future of DCPS for years to come. Chancellor, you have done not just a great job—but an outstanding job. Thank you.

Howard University Hospital, in partnership with D.C. Public Schools, proudly hosted a powerful 2nd Annual Mini-Medical School White Coat Ceremony for students from Harriet Tubman Elementary School. During this inspiring event, students were formally “coated,” symbolizing their first step into the world of medicine. With guidance and mentorship from Howard University College of Medicine students, these young scholars gained early exposure to healthcare careers, opening doors to future opportunities in science and medicine. Programs like this are helping to build a more diverse healthcare workforce while inspiring the next generation right here in our community. 🌞Summer didn't slow our students down one bit!   They built robots 🤖, paddled across rivers 🛶, read with hometown heroes 📚⚾️, honed their archery skills 🎯, and kept the learning going.   Let's keep up that momentum as we kick off another amazing school year at DCPS!💙
