In the very recent past, the West made a strong argument for itself. If you immigrated, your family was won over within a generation. I’m a huge progressive for third world countries. What they’ve been doing isn’t working. They obviously need to try something new and keep experimenting and learning from others and themselves until they discover a working formula for improving their countries. But I’m conservative about the first world. I don’t support erasing what made it successful. That civilization and culture must be conserved while we help it evolve along the fundamental principles that made it great. Importing third worldism, with the people and the ideology and culture they hang on to, into the first world would absolutely wreck it, just like it did in the third world.
