There is a lot more to hitting than standing on 1 leg and trying to create some picture perfect swing! Listen to Johnny Gomes talk about all that goes into being prepared to face a certain pitcher. I personally wanted to know the velocity of his pitches and what was his OUT pitch. I hunted the fastball 99.99% of the time until 2 strikes. With 2 strikes I looked fastball middle away and adjusted to the off speed. I believe many of today’s @MLB hitters are guessing based on the percentages of types of pitches that particular pitcher throws and trying to hit the ball hard in the air.
