"The obstacles to knowledge-rich education are not scientific; they are ideological, professional, structural, political, cultural, and increasingly technological." An excellent essay by @rpondiscio. His problems are areas Logres hopes to overcome. thenext30years.substack.com/…

In all of our programs, we read whole books. A Logres class assigns between 400-1200 pages depending on the course. Come study with us. Applications open July 1. logresinstitute.org/
“We are now reaching a crisis point where if the number (of pages) goes down further, it’s unclear to me whether my discipline of #history can really be taught” bit.ly/4efExya

Become the teacher who can lead your students to ponder great and hidden questions. July 1 - we open registration. logresinstitute.org/
The average student graduates after 12 years of schooling and still cannot answer the most important questions in life. What is a good man? What is justice? What is worth sacrificing for? What is beauty? What is truth? What is the purpose of life? Classical education begins with the assumption that any education failing to address these questions is not really education at all.

"The classical school should be patriotic. There is no such thing as a citizen of the world. It is a contradiction in terms." @AnthonyEsolen, Classical Catechism (Wake Forest, NC: @thalespress, 2024), 100.

"it is striking that a course introducing Stanford freshmen to the life of the mind assigns 50 pages of a contemporary critique of Western science and not a single page of a contemporary defense of it."

"In other words, the ratio of progressive to canonical course content at Stanford has tripled, from 1.1 to 3.1."

"a quality classical education for all American students is only possible if they are willing to ditch Dewey’s failed progressive model and admit that conservatives and Christians [were] right about education all along." Auguste Meyrat in @FDRLST thefederalist.com/2026/05/11…

"Holding kids accountable, stressing personal responsibility, honoring the Western tradition, and meritocracy are Christian conservative priorities even if educators avoid citing Bible verses and parables from the Gospels." - Auguste Meyrat in @FDRLST thefederalist.com/2026/05/11…

Imagine if @MattWalshBlog joined in a new exciting venture trying to help conservatives engage the western tradition...Will trade retweets for discounted tuition (only good for @MattWalshBlog). logresinstitute.org/
Replying to @MattWalshBlog
Imagine if conservatives, rather than pathetically crawling around on the ground to lap up discarded pop culture crumbs, actually went out and advanced their own creative and artistic vision. Imagine if we used an event like this to actually elevate our own artists and make them famous. What a crazy thought.

This is a class we should all want to take. And Annie will bring this spirit to the C.S. Lewis Studies Certificate. "Every Dante needs a Virgil, a guide to the cosmos and the Great Tradition. In the postmodern age, C.S. Lewis is that guide—our British Boethius."
Student summary of our Ancients class 🥹: "My mom asked me what I thought was the most important thing I learned this year in Manna I with you. So I thought about it for a couple minutes, and I thought back to all the values that have been reflected upon in these stories—how in Homer, Xenia and Kleos were both heavily reflected upon as values, how Virgil showcased the value of hubris in his culture, how Socrates showed his value for the truth and justice and Aristotle seemed to seek out happiness. Yet all these things that all these people valued really didn’t seem to make any of them a flawless person I would follow. In fact, some of the people reflected in the stories seemed to become even a bit worse when trying to uphold the value. I really only saw the only person that was truly flawless was Jesus. I pondered our discussion regarding our Telos as Christians being to follow in Christ’s footsteps; I think the most valuable take away and application to pursue at the conclusion of the year in your class is this: our worldly values will change constantly; but they will never make us as perfect as we hope they will. Only following Jesus, walking like him, and pursuing his values will truly help us achieve our Telos." This is what it's all about, y'all. Education as discipleship.
