It is absolutely unsafe for Cardiology Nurse Consultants to see patients in the ED.
Cardiologists spend decades training to become consultants.
Nurses with no formal cardiology qualifications and zero standardised exams are putting patient safety at risk.
Scope creep must stop.

Note that funding works very interestingly in NHS departments.
The funding budget can very easily pivot from medical staffing to fund a resident doctor to funding a PA/ACP, due to “need”.
But once done, it can never switch back to RD funding because it’s now “a different pot”

Is it core or HST? Are we just creating a new/worse bottleneck at ST3/4 so we can have perma-SpRs?
And are people “offered” the 2016 contract or being imposed on? 2016 is higher pension contributions, lower on call pay

Strikes for 15–19 June have been called off while members vote on a new offer covering jobs, pay and progression.
The choice is yours:
Vote YES and accept the offer, or vote NO and return to escalated industrial action.

I think there is genuine suggestion that doctors are being mistreated, and possibly being bullied out of roles and careers at these sites.
It has real impact on services
It cannot be allowed to continue just because no-one is formally complaining - the signs are there.

You cannot let “we couldn’t recruit doctors” slide because these places are saying they CAN recruit & treat other staff well.
We know ACPs like to expand the ACP numbers and prospects within their departments, to the detriment of doctors, including appointing consultant ACPs

There has to be a formal review into why these places still have trainees, whether they deserve them or can support them.
Whether the service is safe for patients when it’s evidently not medically staffed.
If a place mistreats doctors so badly, there has to be consequences

If a department apparently has issues recruiting doctors who are already trained & qualified, but has no issues recruiting & retaining ACP/ACCPs who have to career pivot, there has to be an investigation into why and what is wrong with how they’ve treated their doctors
