Reakce na nepříjemné události jsou díky ní velmi pohotové a předbíhají náš rozum. A my pak můžeme udělat špatné investiční rozhodnutí. Bývá lepší investovat pravidelně měsíčně než podle emocí prodávat nebo nakupovat.

Knihtisk zrychlil růst tehdejších evropských měst o šedesát procent, ale vzápětí pomohl rozmluvit kontinent do zničující války.
Mezinárodní měnový fond odhaduje, že umělá inteligence brzy zasáhne šedesát procent pracovních míst. Místo makroekonomických predikcí jsem se proto vrátil k Janu Amosi Komenskému, který podobnou informační revoluci prožil jako pád do polykrize a zaplatil za ni ztrátou domova.
Gutenberg zlevnil kopírování myšlenek, generativní sítě dnes posílají k nule cenu jejich samotné výroby. Technologie nevytváří lidskou úzkost ani ambice z ničeho. Funguje ale jako surový multiplikátor, který komukoliv propůjčí dokonalý jazyk k obhajobě jakéhokoliv klamu.
Běžný optimismus spoléhá na to, že stroje odbaví rutinu a uvolní nám kapacitu pro myšlení. Míjí přitom fakt, že náš každodenní prostor brzy zaplaví extrémní přebytek přesvědčivosti. I naprostý logický nesmysl dnes získá bezchybný analytický obal.
Komenského odpovědí na tehdejší chaos byl trénink vnitřního kompasu. Pro každého z nás z toho plyne tvrdá lekce. Naši budoucnost už nezajistí schopnost rychle vygenerovat odpověď, ale kritická imunita vůči elegantně napsané lži.
Veřejná debata se zacyklila u rychlosti technologické adopce, zatímco skutečnou hrozbou je blížící se neschopnost odlišit fakt od hladké interpretace.

Toto video bylo zveřejněno v lednu 2020. A ten časový rámec je důležitý, protože ukazuje, že ruská propaganda o „ukrajinských biolaboratořích“ se neobjevila kouzelně až po invazi v roce 2022. Moskva táhla tuto mrtvolu konspirační teorie za sebou už léta, zejména proti Ukrajině, Gruzii, Kazachstánu a dalším postsovětským zemím, které se odvážily spolupracovat se Západem. Video vysvětluje americký program redukce biologických hrozeb přesně tak, jak říká jeho název: program na snižování hrozeb. Jeho účelem bylo pomoci partnerským zemím zabezpečit nebezpečné patogeny ze sovětské éry, zlepšit detekci nemocí, posílit laboratorní zařízení pro veřejné zdraví a zabránit tomu, aby se přirozené ohniska nemocí změnila v regionální bezpečnostní katastrofy. Na Ukrajině byla oficiální prioritou konsolidace a zabezpečení patogenů a pomoc při detekci a hlášení ohnisek nemocí dříve, než se stanou širšími hrozbami. Americká agentura pro redukci obranných hrozeb také uvádí, že práce byla mírová, podléhala procesům kontroly vývozu a prověřování a nesponzorovala výzkum zlepšování funkcí ani experimenty na lidech. Video také jasně vysvětluje, proč Rusko tyto laboratoře nenávidělo: ne proto, že by to byly tajné zbrojovky, ale proto, že představovaly západní spolupráci se zeměmi, které Moskva stále považuje za ukradený majetek. Gruzínské Lugarovo centrum je dokonalým příkladem. Rusko ho pomluvilo jako americkou proxy zařízení pro biologické zbraně, zatímco Gruzie ho otevřela mezinárodní kontrole. V roce 2018 22 expertů a pozorovatelů ze 17 zemí prohlédlo Lugarovo centrum v rámci Rámce úmluvy o biologických zbraních a konstatovalo transparentnost jeho činností. Ruští experti byli pozváni, ale odmítli se účastnit, protože samozřejmě propaganda funguje lépe, když se na důkazy vůbec nepodíváte. Takže ruský narativ není „skepse“. Je to geopolitická kanalizace, přes kterou je hozený laboratorní plášť. Stejný stroj, který označuje invaze za „osvobození“ a masakry civilistů za „zinscenované“, se také pokusil proměnit laboratorní zařízení pro veřejné zdraví v karikaturistické zlovolné továrny na biologické zbraně. Cílem nebyla pravda. Cílem byl strach, zmatení a otrava veřejné důvěry v země, které se přibližují k Západu. Celý smysl videa je v transparentnosti: tyto projekty nebyly tajné, vědci byli povzbuzováni k publikování, mezinárodní experti byli zváni a práce byla popsána jako mírová spolupráce ve veřejném zdraví. Ruský nárok byl opak: tajné americké plány na biologické zbraně na ruských hranicích. Jedna strana nabízela inspekce, publikace a otevřenou spolupráci. Druhá strana paranoia, hysterii státních médií a obvyklý kremelský bažinný plyn. Toto je v podstatě důkaz z doby před rokem 2022, že panika kolem „ukrajinských biolaboratoří“ nikdy nebyl vážný argument. Byla to stará ruská dezinformační zbraň, kterou připravili na ohřev, když byla užitečná, a pak ji hodili do narativu invaze, aby Rusko vypadalo jako oběť, zatímco to byl agresor.

And that timing matters, because it shows Russian “Ukrainian biolab” propaganda did not magically appear after the 2022 invasion. Moscow had been dragging this corpse of a conspiracy around for years, especially against Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and other post-Soviet countries that dared to cooperate with the West.
The video explains the U.S. Biological Threat Reduction Program as exactly what the name says: a threat-reduction program. Its purpose was to help partner countries secure dangerous Soviet-era pathogens, improve disease detection, strengthen public-health laboratories, and stop natural outbreaks from becoming regional security disasters. In Ukraine, the official priority was to consolidate and secure pathogens and help detect and report disease outbreaks before they became wider threats. The U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency also states that the work was peaceful, subject to export-control and vetting processes, and did not sponsor gain-of-function research or human experimentation.
The video also makes clear why Russia hated these labs: not because they were secret weapons sites, but because they represented Western cooperation with countries Moscow still treats like stolen property. Georgia’s Lugar Center is the perfect example. Russia smeared it as a U.S. proxy bioweapons facility, while Georgia opened it to international review. In 2018, 22 experts and observers from 17 countries inspected the Lugar Center under the Biological Weapons Convention framework and found transparency around its activities. Russian experts were invited, then refused to participate, because obviously the propaganda works better when you never look at the evidence.
So the Russian narrative is not “skepticism.” It is geopolitical sewage with a lab coat thrown over it. The same machine that calls invasions “liberation” and civilian massacres “staged” also tried to turn public-health laboratories into cartoon villain bioweapon factories. The goal was not truth. The goal was fear, confusion, and poisoning public trust in countries moving closer to the West.
The whole point of the video is transparency: these projects were not classified, scientists were encouraged to publish, international experts were invited in, and the work was described as peaceful public-health cooperation. Russia’s claim was the opposite: secret U.S. bioweapons plots on Russia’s borders. One side offered inspections, publications, and open cooperation. The other side offered paranoia, state media hysteria, and the usual Kremlin swamp gas.
This is basically pre-2022 evidence that the “Ukrainian biolab” panic was never a serious argument. It was an old Russian disinformation weapon, reheated when useful, then thrown into the invasion narrative to make Russia look like the victim while it was the aggressor.
